JOGGING Buddies have a new best pal – the management who run sports and leisure centre locally.

Renfrewshire Leisure has agreed to help out the hundreds of keep-fit fans who pound the streets as part of the Jogging Buddies group.

The new partnership between the two organisations means the joggers get access to the four local sports and leisure centres – The Lagoon, in Paisley; Renfrew Leisure Centre, Linwood Sports Complex and Erskine Sports Centre – to use as changing facilities.

And members of the Renfrewshire Leisure Club can take part in the coach-led jogging sessions as part of their membership package.

Susan McDonald is manager of Jogging Buddies. She said: “Our members can now have access to some tremendous facilities.
“The partnership also gives people who take part in other sport and fitness activities in leisure centres throughout Renfrewshire the chance to try out jogging with the help of a coach who goes out on runs with them.
“This will also be a great boost for those training for the Paisley 10k Race, in August.”
Renfrewshire Leisure’s chief executive, Joyce McKellar said: “This is a partnership in which everyone is a winner.
“The Jogging Buddies get access to our first-class facilities and our members can take part in an extra fitness activity with coaching for the same membership fee.”
