Job Title: Fitness Consultant (Casual)
Grade £8.4730 per hour                        

The successful candidate will be responsible to the Gym Manager for the efficient day to day operation of a designated gym facility within Renfrewshire Leisure, ensuring customers have the best health and fitness experience possible.  You will be expected to deliver excellent customer service and use every opportunity to interact with customers, offering advice, coaching and encouragement.

It is essential you are registered at REPS level 2 (or equivalent), have a First Aid at Work qualification, at least 1 year’s experience of working within a health and fitness environment and have a qualification in an area of health and fitness.  Additionally, you must be able to communicate in a way that generates enthusiasm and commitment and be able to work unsupervised and as part of a team.

Successful candidates must have a flexible approach regarding hours worked to suit the needs of the service.

Leisure Assistant (Casual Employment)
Grade £7.2708 per hour
Various Swimming Pools within Renfrewshire

Flexible working and a variety of incentives are available to employees including training opportunities and staff discounts.

You will be responsible for:

• ensuring the safety of bathers and customers of the facility
• general cleaning which may entail the use of cleaning equipment.

You must:

• be able to swim 2 lengths of a 25 metre swimming pool without stopping
• participate in a pre-requisite swim test
• have good interpersonal skills
• demonstrate good judgement
• be able to work effectively as part of a team

Previous experience of working with members of the public would be advantageous.

Possession of a current NARS Pool Life Guard qualification (or equivalent) is desirable, however, training towards this qualification can be provided to applicants who demonstrate the potential to qualify within one month of the date of appointment.  A minimum of one year’s experience within a Leisure Centre / Swimming Pool facility is also desirable as is possession of an Assistant Swimming Teacher Certificate and First Aid Certificate.

The successful candidate must be flexible regarding hours worked as they will be required to work weekends/irregular hours.
