On Monday 22nd, we saw the first Eilish Herron netball league meet of 2016 at St Andrews Academy, run by the schools Young Ambassador’s of Sport.
80 pupils from 9 schools from the Paisley Cluster of the Sports Services, Active Schools Programme attended on the day to meet and play friendly games of Netball in memory of a former pupil of the school and budding young Netball star Eilish Herron.
The pupils in attendance were not only working on developing their playing ability and skill level on the court, they were also working on the key life skills: communication, friend making and team work.
Eilish played a key role in promoting Netball for our Youth & also encouraging girls to further develop their skills through Club netball in our area. In honour of this, the league was created last year and they meet on a 6 weekly basis to create a lasting legacy for Eilish in the sport she loved.
