Young golfers were well up to par when they competed in the Renfrewshire Leisure Active Schools Golf Championship, recently.
The annual event was played at Erskine Golf Club with 22 pupils from seven local secondary schools taking part.
The overall Championship winner with a two-under par gross score of 71 was Alexander Farmer, from Gryffe High School. And the best net score of 61 on the day went to Josh Middleton, from Park Mains High School.
Schools who took part in the tournament were Gleniffer High, Park Mains High, Renfrew High, Paisley Grammar, Johnstone High, Gryffe High and Trinity High.
David Rose, a Renfrewshire Leisure Active Schools Co-ordinator said: “It was the first time we had held the tournament at Erskine Golf Club and we would like to thank club officials and staff for all their help in organising the event.
“The standard of golf from the pupils was very good, particularly as at various times throughout the day they had to put up with high winds and driving rain.”
