Sports Services Secondary games
10 high schools came together to compete against each other in this years Secondary games at the ON-X Linwood on 6th June. The annual secondary games are Sports Services biggest secondary schools competitive event and are the culmination of the Secondary school competitive school sport programme. This programme aims to provide pupils in Renfrewshire secondary schools the opportunity to take part in regular competitive school sport, provide clear and progressive competition structures and encourage more coaches and officials to become involved with tournaments and events.
Teams competed in Basketball, girls football, badminton, hockey, girls and boys rugby to find the best teams in Renfrewshire with over 300 pupils attending.
Thanks to all the local clubs and Sports services staff in their assistance in running the event and ensuring the day was a success.
Sports Services Primary games
This years primary games took place on the 9th June at the ON-x, Linwood with over 300 primary pupils taking part. In total, 29 schools were involved in one of Sports Services biggest primary competitions. The games are the showpiece final to the primary active schools programme which runs across the year featuring area based qualifiers, extra curricular clubs and community clubs.
