In a move that will see over £100,000 invested in new equipment, the fitness suite at Erskine Sports Centre will be moving to a new home at Park Mains Sports Complex.
The move is planned to take place during the October school holidays, beginning on Monday 15th October.
As part of the process, Renfrewshire Leisure will be purchasing over £100,000 of brand new equipment.
The switch will also see much of Renfrewshire Leisure’s current equipment being retained and transferred to Park Mains.
The fitness suite at Park Mains Sports Complex will offer a space that is roughly double the size of the current portable cabin beside the Sports Centre. In addition, the new location of the fitness suite will offer customers improved changing and toilet facilities.
Qualified Renfrewshire Leisure fitness staff will be on hand at all times, both at the reception and in the fitness suite; to answer any questions you may have and provide you with any support customers may need.
During the transfer of the fitness suite from the Sports Centre to Park Mains, there will be a short period where facilities will be unavailable. During this time, all classes will continue to run as normal at the Sports Centre and any members wishing to use a fitness suite can do so at any of our five other facilities available at the Lagoon, On-X Linwood, Renfrew Sports Centre, Johnstone Community Sports Hub and Ralston Sports Centre.
Head of Leisure Services, Mark Tokeley said, “The move to Park Mains High School will allow us to improve the quality of service we offer our customers. Not only will we have £100,000 of brand new equipment available, but we will also be providing a much bigger space at our busier times.
“We hope that any disruption to our customers will be limited during the transition and look forward to having this exciting new space.”
More information on the layout of the new fitness suite and the equipment being installed will follow in the coming weeks.
